Exclusive clubs can’t be image Harvard wants to project

Re “Harvard may bar final club members” (Page A1, July 13): At unenlightened colleges, secret exclusive clubs foster camaraderie and connection for the few while excluding most students.

Harvard must decide: Are its student-products who seek to “freely associate” based on exclusionism, classism, racism, and sexism to be presented in the 21st century as the best and the brightest this school can produce? Does a Harvard education continue to stand for the injustices of legacy nepotism, classism, racism, sexism, and exclusionary discrimination?
