This week we look back at Boston’s holiday traditions. The city is transformed in this season with visual treats of Santa walking the streets, excited children abound, and fanciful decorations. Among all of the shopping and hustle, warm-heartedness permeates the city. - Leanne Burden Seidel and Lisa Tuite

First photo can't be 1906. More like 1925. Autos and clothing styles.
This photo is from 1906? I don't think so. Perhaps the person who chooses these photos should have a more thorough knowledge of history.
Mid- 20's for sure - not a horse in sight, neon signs, electric traffic lights, and a glimpse of stocking.
Agreed with the others. This photo is not from 1906; sorry to see the state of historical knowledge at the Globe.
Clothes suggest early to mid-1920's; lots of vehicular traffic at the end of the street; first really mass produced automobile (Ford Model T) didn't come into production until 1908. Note traffic light; first three light traffic light wasn't patented until 1920.
