The Franklin Park Zoo

The Franklin Park zoo opened on Oct 3, 1912 to the delight of thousands. Boston’s zoo was home to a variety of animals throughout the years and went through many changes. In 1989 The Tropical Forest was a huge addition to the zoo and extensive renovations to the gorilla exhibit made it a popular attraction. -Leanne Burden Seidel and Lisa Tuite
