Wollaston Beach in Quincy

Wollaston Beach in Quincy first opened in 1908 with the completion of Quincy Shore Drive. It consists of more than 2 miles of shoreline along Boston Harbor. A popular spot for summer recreation for decades, the beach was sadly closed in the 1980s due to polluted waters. A massive cleanup ensued, and the beach has now been safe for years.— Leanne Burden Seidel and Lisa Tuite
