Johnny Pesky not bitter after dismissal by Red Sox

“I’m not the first manager that’s been fired” declared a disappointed but not downcast Johnny Pesky on Friday after he had been released by the Red Sox.

Pesky was not bitter that there was no job for him in the Red Sox organization. It wasn’t until Friday morning that he was told vice-president Mike Higgins that he was being released.
