PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

Hayley Dowd

Division 1: Peabody

Dowd captained the Tanners to the Division 1 state title, notching 41 goals and 19 assists. The junior was named the Coaches EMass Division 1 Player of the Year and Northeastern Conference MVP. She is Peaboby’s all-time leading scorer.

Jenna Savi

Division 2: Dedham

The senior All-American has led the Bay State League in scoring for three seasons. Savi, the league MVP and four-time league all-star, finished the year with 31 goals and 15 assists, giving her 138 career points, the most in school history.

Maddie Dunn

Division 3: Dover-Sherborn

Dunn led the Raiders to the Division 3 state title, scoring 25 goals and notching six assists. The senior forward was named to the All-State team and was first team EMass and Tri-Valley League, the latter for the third consecutive year.

ALL-SCHOLASTICS

Lauren Berman

Canton, junior

Berman led the Bulldogs to the Division 2 state finals, garnering Hockomock League MVP and All-New England team honors. She is also a Hockomock champion in track and has verbally committed to play soccer at Maryland.

Rachel Blauner

East Bridgewater, senior

The two-time All-Scholastic and four-time league all-star led the Vikings to the South Shore League championship, scoring 34 goals and dishing out eight assists. For her career, Blauner has 102 goals and 39 assists.

Mimi Borkan

Medfield, junior

Borkan led the Warriors to a 16-1-4 record and a Tri-Valley League title, allowing just nine goals in 21 games, good for a .43 goals against average. Her play earned her TVL MVP honors and a spot on the Coaches EMass All-State team.

Morgan Branco

Brockton, senior

Branco was named the MVP of the Big Three Conference, scoring 27 goals and handing out 12 assists. A four-year starter, Branco has 89 goals and 30 assists for her career. She will play for the University of Southern New Hampshire.

Annie Galvin

Bishop Feehan, senior

Galvin has led the Shamrocks in scoring since her sophomore season. She finished with an Eastern Athletic Conference-leading 22 goals and 24 assists this season. She graduates as the leading point scorer in Feehan history.

Megan Hennessey

Winchester, junior

Hennessey notched three goals and eight assists for the Sachems and was named a Coaches EMass and Middlesex League first-teamer, and is a member of the All-State team. She’s an All-Scholastic in lacrosse, which she plans to play at Harvard.

Taylor Levy

Bishop Feehan, senior

Levy captained the Shamrocks to the Eastern Athletic Conference championship with 20 goals and 12 assists. She was selected to the All-New England team and graduates fifth all-time in points at Bishop Feehan.

Nandi Mehta

Lexington, senior

A four-year varsity starter and two-year captain, Mehta has twice been named a Coaches EMass All-Star. The center midfielder finished the season with seven goals and five assists, giving her 18 goals and 14 assists for her career.

Andrea O’Brien

Concord-Carlisle, junior

The All-American forward netted 37 goals and 10 assists for the Patriots, earning her third EMass All-Star selection. O’Brien, who has won back-to-back Dual County League MVPs, has 78 goals and 26 assists in her career.

Corey Persson

Danvers, senior

Persson netted 20 goals and eight assists for the Falcons. The Northeastern Conference All-Star and All New England striker leaves with 103 goals. Persson, who set the Danvers all-time scoring mark with 140 points , wiil attend Penn State.

Katie Sia

Lincoln-Sudbury, junior

Sia posted 12 shutouts for the Warriors, earning a spot on the Dual County League All-Star team. Sia allowed just six goals for a .48 goals against average. She was also named to the Coaches EMass All-Star team.

Hannah Weagle

Ipswich, senior

Weagle was named the Cape Ann League’s Player of the Year for the second straight season with a league-leading 22 points (16 goals, six assists). The midfielder was also tabbed the Coaches EMass Division 3 Player of the Year.

COACHES OF THE YEAR

Britt Sellmayer

Division 1: Oliver Ames

Sellmayer led the Tigers to a 17-3-3 record and the Division 1 South championship. The Bridgewater State graduate and Mansfield native has been coaching for 18 seasons and boasts a 308-45-36 career record.

Paul Turner

Division 2: Canton

Turner led the Bulldogs to the Division 2 state finals, finishing atop the Hockomock League with a record of 19-2-2. Originally from London, he played nine seasons with the Cape Cod Crusaders of the United Soccer League.

David Wainwright

Division 3: Dover-Sherborn

Wainwright guided the Raiders to a 16-5-3 record and a Division 3 state championship. The Needham High graduate has a 47-23-17 mark in 14 years of coaching and was named the 2009 Tri-Valley League Coach of the Year.

The All-Scholastic girls’ soccer team was selected by the school sports staff. Selection is limited to MIAA schools that compete in EMass leagues.
