Steve Nicol irked by Colorado Rapids snub

Former Revolution coach Steve Nicol confirmed yesterday he was contacted by the Colorado Rapids for the head coaching position, but called the dealings “disrespectful’’ and “unprofessional’’ after they did not follow through on negotiations.

Rapids general manager Paul Bravo called Nicol to set up an interview in November, but Nicol said he did not hear back from Bravo. The Rapids hired former Revolution midfielder Oscar Pareja to replace Gary Smith last week.
