Summed up by Branch after the game: 'almost flawless'. I'm in awe over their discipline.

Terrific game, I even loved the Brady 3'd down punt ;) And when Gronk got that gift TD (the second score, great catch, but it touched the ground before full control, IMO) we Knew the outcome was not in doubt - but my (utterly trivial) question is: is there a deliberate policy against showing Gronkowski's spikes? I kinda like that little display, but each time NBC cut away just before, even in replays. They weren't cutting to another play, why not show it? Silly, yes but I'm curious. there are plenty of images I like to see avoided in sports broadcasting, starting with all baseball dugout shots, hockey fights, linebacker prancing displays after a simple tackle and, of course all 'Tebowing' and prayer gestures. Gronk's spike seems pretty harmless in comparison.

Can anyone explain Brady's third down punt? Was it really necessary?
