Canadiens’ P.K. Subban hit with $2,500 fine

NHL The NHL fined Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban $2,500 yesterday for what the league called a “dangerous trip’’ on Penguins forward Chris Kunitz. No penalty was assessed on the play, which happened Friday late in the third period of the Penguins’ 5-4 shootout win. The fine is the maximum allowed under league rules. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund . . . Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist and Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul will be assistant captains for the All-Star Game. Lundqvist will join the team captained by Ottawa’s Daniel Alfredsson. Lupul will assist the team led by Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara.
