Patriots’ offense, not defense, was the problem

They did their part. And then some. When the book is written on the 2011 Patriots , the record will show that the much-maligned and much-talked about defense was not the Achilles’ heel of this team, like some thought it was.

The defense played an exceptional, unbelievable game. They continually frustrated the Giants. We could feel some of those tackles in Toronto e.g., Chung on Nicks? (he was never the same after that), Spikes on everybody, Moore? is a wicked tackler as well. The emotion and intensity on the defense was palpable. I wouldn't say the offense was "the problem" but you would expect some points from the offense, after the initial drive in the third quarter, wouldn't you?

The title of this article is correct. Brady put the team down 9-0 before it really began, which is the death knell in the playoffs. Hate to say it, but before the supermodel years, he was a much better quarterback. This is what totally sucks about modern athletics...he will go into the Hall of Fame (albeit every year erodes his credentials), make his money, hsngs with his beyatch, who sucks the athlete who wins from his persona completely, and cavorts on the beach at Ipanema while we suffer.
