Bob Ryan to retire from Globe this year

Longtime columnist will depart after the Olympics

Bob Ryan, an award-winning sports columnist for the Boston Globe, plans to retire after the London Olympics this summer.

Not a moment too soon. Loved him as the Celtics beat writer, but have now suffered his columnist bombast for 20+ years. Could he take Shaugnessy with him by any chance when he departs?

Bob is a treasure and will be missed. hopefully, his "contributions" will be frequent.
