I don't know the actual Age but I do remember that Willie Stargell was still going strong in his late thirties. An old teammate from y army days was from Pittsburgh and we stayed in contact over the years. He loved big Willie.

One would be hard-pressed a column by Ray Fitzgerald or Leigh Montville--or even a young Dan Shaughnessy--where the writer was the topic.
