No we are not all Fenway Park. 200$ nights to watch grown baby's, er, men play a game is ridiculous. The place is all that is wrong with the world today.

Sorry, but the place has long outlived its usefulness as a major league ballpark. Almost every other park in the major leagues is superior.

Great article, Bob. Thank you for including so many wonderful anecdotes. The one about the woman who died was so touching. Your story is a gem, an article to treasure. By the way, I remember the first time I went to Fenway with my brother. (Our dad took us, of course.) Then, a few years ago, I took my son. I wasn't sure what he could see of that game when he was age 7, but he looked like he was having the time of his life. Before I married my wife, my future brother-in-law and I took in a game at Fenway to get to know eachother. My wife and I have taken our son many times since then and loved it every time. Our daughter is 24 and she's finally decided that she must go to Fenway before she turns 30! In so many ways, as you pointed out, we are Fenway Park.

Thank you, Bob. That is a great article and one I shall be printing out and framing.

I agree. I hope to be a grandparent in the not too distant future and when that occurs, I shall be bringing the 6th generation Red Sox fan to Fenway Park. When I brought my younger daughter for the first time, the look in her eyes was of pure magic. Tears welled up in her eyes and she said, "Mom, it's just like you described it! Thank you so much for sharing this with me." I love Fenway Park...

Thanks for not hiding from the Hideously Racist Era of Higgins and his partner in Crime Yawkey. Tom Yawkey left a lot of money for a lot of nice things in Boston, his name is everywhere (Mass General and more). I guess that should count for something. However -- that was what put the curse on the Red Sox, not Ruth but RACISM to the point where we deserved to have the Sox make us wait forever!! Luckily only 2004, but OH THAT WAS A SWEET ONE. Just Perfect!! An aside I was thrilled to see Bill Buckner get a HUGE HAND TODAY! That is the right thing to do. Buckner is classy, and hopefully he thinks Boston is classy as well.
