Don’t expect a playoff run from 2012 Red Sox

No one is picking the Red Sox to win this year, and they have earned this disrespect with perhaps the worst offseason in MLB.

well, now that Shaughnessy has offered his usual naysaying, the Sox are guaranteed to do well. Thanks, Dan.

CHB doing his best gloom and doom, sky is falling, glass half empty shtick. Come on Dan, it is old.

Hey Dan, give it a rest. They haven't played a game yet.

Just when I start to ease up on DS and think he is more stable and objective than he appears to be he comes up with one of these. I suppose it's his bread and butter, but really, it's an offensive joke and I once again understand why players and management can't stand the curly-haired boyfriend. Dan - go p*** up a rope.

Camelot GM? Everyone's all over Bobby V and how bad a job Cherington has done. Theo left a house on fire! He deserves credit for helping to bring two World Series to Boston but the last couple years were horrendous. A "fish rots from the head" and this mess can be put at the feet of John Henry, aka Montgomery Burns, who allowed his boy Theo to run amok. Baseball Ops and Carmine have put together a team of unlikeable stats guys and Henry, having no people skills, doesn't seem to understand the mess that is the Sox. You can't count on them to win anything this year but it will be great theater to watch the debacle that will unfold for Fenway's 100th Year!! F you John Henry!!

On opening day, you have to write this? What do you sleep on --- a bed of nails, after dining on rat poison? I can't believe the Globe pays you to torture its readers. Why don't you go to New York and write about the Yankees? We'd love you then.

Dan, Can you be anymore negative on opening day? Maybe it's time you covered golf. Florida's sunny year-round. You need a change of place.
