Great read! I have to admit that my first thought was, "Is it so rare to have an athlete who reads that it make the news?" As I read on, however, I really enjoyed learning about Mr. Allen's love of reading and how he uses it to further his professional and private growth. He is welcome to my book club anytime!

What a wonderful, uplifting story to start out the work week!

Ray Allen continues to impress me both on the court and off. Really nice story by Amalie Benjamin.

Ray is just the man, plain and simple. Can't say enough good things about him.

Doesn't surprise me that Ray is a big reader. He is a very well spoken man; and his intellect shines through. What a great representative of the Boston Celtics. Go Ray!!

This is a perfect example of how professional athletes can be positive role models; not be merely mouthing bland "stay in school" , when so many of them didn't but by sharing a positive behavior of their own. There has always been a clear connection between children who are avid readers and success in school and there has always be a clear connection between schooling and success in life. Mr Allen can be having a profound effect on children's lives.
