Bruins rule Nathan Horton out for playoffs

WILMINGTON – The Bruins announced that Nathan Horton will not appear in the postseason. Horton hasn’t played since suffering a concussion on Jan. 22.

He was diagnosed with a mild concussion after being hit by Philadelphia’s Tom Sestito.

This is the second straight season in which Horton will miss postseason time. Aaron Rome ended Horton’s run last year when he blasted him in Game 3.

Earlier this week, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said Horton was a ‘‘long shot’’ to return for the playoffs, noting that even though he has been cleared to skate it would take him several weeks to get back into shape.
