One of the first lessons that Bobby Valentine ought to emulate is the behavior of the one and only - Bill Belichick. The New England Patriot's coach doesn't blabber: however, coach Belichich is respected by the majority of NFL players, the owners, fellow coaches and the Patriot fans. Shut-up Valentine, we don't want to hear your musings. Why can't we get a manager like Joe Torre?
Wow, I was all set to post something totally different. After reading the first sentence of Cantabrigian01's post, I have to agree, (great post). Valentine might make for good TV & radio spots but he's going to lose the hearts and minds of his players if he heads down the wrong path before he gets to really know them. Once he's entrenched, he may have more leeway but now is not the time for his patented off-the-cuff remarks.
