How about Bob Ryan. Isn't he special. For years, he and Shag acted as front men for Harry Sinden and greatly contributed, in my opinion' to the near demise of pro hockey in Boston. If you all remember, when Ray Bourque, a far more important piece than the invaluable Wes Welker, took the Bruins to arbitration, Harry Sinden, Jeremy Jacobs' arrogant lackey, threatened to trade Bourque, one of the five greatest Bruins to have ever played, while Jacobs made mega millions with NO SALARY CAP. DESPITE THAT, NO PAY THE MAN HARRY COLUMNS, from Bonzai Bob, however, he was as quiet as a field mouse in a cellar full of cats, protecting Harry as well as his neighbor and close friend, the incomparable Mike, "let's release all the players and sign them at coolie wages after the players' strike", O'Connell. How'd that work out , Bob? Bye the way, Bob, what team is O'Connell the GM of now? I'm sure other NHL teams are offering him a fortune to run their teams on a daily basis. After all he WAS trained by 30 years and NO CUPS Sinden. NO Bob is so creatively challenged that saves his venom solely for Bob Kraft, who has been a model owner, beloved by his players and other players around the league and has personally give more to charity than any one person I know. (Do you think Bob Kraft would ever NOT return Terry Francona's phone calls or would any key Patriot player belittle Mr Kraft by saying "that's not the way we do it here")as if the players ran the team as they do on the Red Sox? One of David's operative words for mediocrity in journalism was transparency. Clear as glass, Bob, that's you, crystal clear.
Someone peed in his Wheaties.
Didn't the B's get to Holtby on Monday night???
Sherm Feller not in the Red Sox Hall of Fame? Hell, i still grieve a bit when i go to Fenway and don't hear his iconic voice announcing who is at bat, who is pinch hitting, who is coming in on relief. RIP and all honors to the man who, for me, (with total respect for Gowdy, Coleman, Martin, etc.) was the REAL voice of the Red Sox. If he ain't announcing them at the Red Sox Hall of Fame, then, sorry, they ain't there.
