BCS changing, but big playoff isn’t coming

A two-day meeting of college officials to decide the future of the Bowl Championship Series came to an end in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Thursday without a definitive resolution but with some ideas to make things better - so much so that the criticism of the 14-year-old format for deciding a national champion may get muted.
