1. Creative Cause - There was some feeling before the Kentucky Derby that this horse wasn’t himself, but then he ran a competitive race, finishing fifth (only 3 lengths behind the winner) despite being too wide and encountering traffic problems. With a smaller field, jockey Joel Rosario should be able to find good position not far behind the front-runners and then make his move at the right time.
2. Bodemeister - He ran a tremendous race to finish second in the Derby after setting a sizzling pace. He’ll be in front again and it’s up to jockey Mike Smith to control the pace and have enough left so this talented horse can hold off everyone else. Creative Cause and Bodemeister have met twice and each have won once.
