Patriots rookie cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, who saw his stock plummet after being arrested outside a Lincoln, Neb., bar just days before the NFL Draft, entered a plea of not guilty on Wednesday.
Dennard entered a written plea of not guilty and waived his arraignment hearing on a charge of third-degree assault of a police officer and resisting arrest, the Omaha World Herald reported.
His next court date has not yet been set.
The 22-year old Nebraska product was the Big Ten defensive back of the year last fall and was a four-year starter for the Huskers.
