On Sunday, via his preferred method of communication, Tim Thomas confirmed his plan not to play during the 2012-13 season.
Thomas posted a statement on his Facebook page, the same medium he chose when explaining his decision not to attend the Bruins’ White House ceremony on Jan. 23.

If his reason for not playing are to reconnect with what he calls the 3 F's then he should do the right thing, and retire! This way there would not be the same penalty to the team and he would be free to spend as much time as he want, reconnecting to his family, friends and his faith.
Maybe Dave Cowens can find him a job driving cab.
