Jen Esposito Mansfield, Senior

Esposito finished her year in style, taking third place at the nationals. She also won the Division 2 title with a meet record time of 1:01.98 and then won the All-State title as well. An indoor track champion as well, she will attend Elon University.

Nicole Genard Somerville

Genard had the top throw in the state this year with her winning toss of 139-10 at the Division 1 meet. She also won the State Coaches meet at 120-9. She finished the season undefeated but was unable to compete in the All-States because of graduation.

Meghan Grela Ursuline, Junior

Grela set the Division 4 record in the 800 with a 2:13.53 after capturing the State Coaches title in the 800. In the All-States, she ran a 2:15.80 to take home second place. A Catholic Conference All-Star, she is also an indoor track team member and honor roll student.

Liz Holmes Foxborough

Only a freshman, Holmes burst onto the scene this year capturing the Division 3 title in 5:03 and then bettered that with a 5:00.23 performance at All-States that gave her second place. She was the freshman indoor national champion in the mile with a 4:55.

Maya Jarostchuk Acton-Boxborough

Jarostchuk took home plenty of hardware this season, winning the Dual County League title, the Division 1 title in a school record 56.85, and the All-State title in 57.36. She is a DCL All-Star in soccer, and also runs indoor track for the Colonials.

Relays:

Relays: 4 x 100 — Brockton

The Brockton relay team of (left to right) Vanessa Clerveaux, Nikayla Simpson, Milan Neville, and Talia Halliday was an unbeatable group this spring, winning the State Coaches Invitational (48.84), Division 1 (48.73), and All-State titles (48.94). All four earned Big Three Conference All-Star honors and Clerveaux also was state champion in the 100 hurdles. None of this was surprising considering the Boxers also dominated the winter season in the 4x200 and Clerveaux was the winter Runner of the Year.

Relays: 4 x 400 — Mansfield

After winning the Division 2 state title the Hornets proved to be the best 4x400 relay team in EMass this season with their second place finish at all-states. At All-States it was the freshman Amerantes who got off first, followed by Oldow who helped the relay team set a meet record at the Division 2 race. All-scholastic Esposito ran third. The squad was anchored by Jones. For the year they also won the Hockomock title in the 4x400.

Relays: 4 x 800 — Hamilton-Wenham

This fearsome foursome ran a blistering 9:18.23 at the All-State meet to capture the top spot and earn a trip to nationals. Phelan the Cape Ann League's two-mile champion, got out quickly to start. Blatchford, who finished eighth in the 800 at All-States, kept up the pace in the second leg. Running third was Duffy in place of Wiegand, who ran at the Division 4 meet. Closing out the race was Senning, the CAL champ in the 400 and runner-up in the 800. She was able to finish with a burst and hold off Newton North by six seconds for the win.
