Ray Allen leaving Celtics to sign with Heat

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Big Three is officially a memory because Ray Allen is headed to South Beach.

Late Friday night, Allen agreed to join the Miami Heat on a three-year contract, according to NBA sources. Heat owner Micky Arison let the NBA world know of the news through Twitter, making Allen’s departure from the Celtics painfully official.

I like Ray Allen, but it's just as well that he's gone. He is extremely limited offensively at this point: unless he's open and established at his spot on the floor, he simply can't create a shot. Anytime he puts the ball on the floor, he's very likely to be stripped. He's an average defensive player. To put it bluntly, he's not worth $6 million/year.

If I had Ray Allen memorabillia to burn, I would.
