Every Sunday, Boston Globe photographer Stan Grossfeld asks the subject of one of his photos to explain what's happening in the shot.
Who’s up today: Carl Crawford steals third base for the Portland Sea Dogs against the Trenton Thunder at Hadlock Field, July 3, 2012.
Crawford: “Once I take off, I’m just trying to get to the base. I’m just trying to get my legs back under me, get a good jump and run fast. I want to test my legs out and see if I can still move the way I normally move. It felt good running the bases. I didn’t have any issues with my hamstrings. That’s pretty much what I was trying to do out there . . . I’ve just got to go out there and be myself and not worry about what people say.”
