You have a team with a $175 million payroll trotting out the likes of Daniel Nava and Pedro Ciriaco as designated hitters. It’s embarrassing and it does not deserve to be rewarded with excuse making and silly playoff dreams.

The silver lining for me: After- market ticket prices will drop and I may finally be able to cross one thing off my bucket list...to sit in the Green Monster without having to take out a second mortgage.
I beat you to it Dan. I called the season over back on July 4. I'm a fan, not a fanatic. I can't waste my time following these Red Sox. If this were a $75 million team that tried to win I would be behind them all the way. But for $175, I expect more. Apparently, the owners feel differently.
They are an embarrassment to the Boston professional sports scene. And it is an insult to the few baseball fans left in the region that the management keeps trotting out phrases like "the varsity is coming back". Really? They are 8-10 since the 'varsity' returned. There is one thing Red Sox management has done successfully to this franchise. Turned it into pink hat nation with a park filled with people who either don't care or don't know the first thing about baseball. They make a ton of money off these fools and laugh all the way to the bank. Soon they'll be laughing their way out of town when the sell the club to move on to their next sports franchise coup. I'm just hoping they'll leave Boston for good.

awesome..not that it matters because my patriots are starting, but i thought the sox had no chance...now that shank has made his prediction again that they wont get in..their chances have skyrocketed..hey shank..nice going..but please stay the heck away from the pats...your predictions are season killers....
