Why the boos for the injured Josh Beckett?

I guess the Red Sox should have traded Josh Beckett. Maybe they just couldn’t get anything for him and John Henry didn’t want to swallow another barrel of money.

In any event, it was a pretty ugly scene at Fenway Tuesday night when the stubborn Texas righty was booed as he walked off the field with a back spasm with two outs in the third inning of Boston’s rain-shortened, 4-1 victory.

The best possible scenario is that Beckett is out for the year

McNamara hated you? It's all about you. Bobby V calls you out and you are as happy as a kid Xmas morning.

I was there. The boos happened before anyone knew he was injured. We thought he was just stinking up the joint.

Dan. They tried to trade the wrong person. They should have tried to trade you. Say something positive for a change.

Dan there is no doubt in my mind that you are the cancer that thrives on being negative. I bet you regret that you did not get to vote against Ted Williams like another Boston sports writer did.

Don't care what any of y'all say - Beckett is part of the solution even if he was part of the problem! Mark my words all you beckett haters! Cheers!

A shameful day for Red Sox fans. Booing your own players? Hey, c'mon. I grew up a Cardinal fan and never heard of anything like this. Never had this experience in old Busch Stadium or Sportsman's Park. I'm embarassed. Call me naive, but I thought the song says, "Root, root, root for the home team." Just sayin' .

We reap what we sew. If you haven't figured it out by now, this is NE Josh - Puritan work ethic, not exactly the gun rack mentality that gave us George Bush or Rich Perry in your beloved Texas. Newsflash: for $15+million a year, YOUR DON'T GET TO GET TO HAVE BACK PAIN. You're already NE's lower back pain. Lefty Grove was pitching at 41, Grover Cleveland Alexander won both ends of a DH one day & did cartwheels to the dugout & Luis Tiant threw over 150 pitches in game 1 of the '75 series. We don't have patience for your neurosis - man up, earn your pay or scram. DA
