LONDON (AP) — Four badminton teams were kicked out of the women’s doubles at the London Games on Wednesday for trying to lose on purpose, conduct that a top IOC executive said strikes at the heart of Olympic competition.
The eight doubles players from China, South Korea and Indonesia were cited by the Badminton World Federation for ‘‘conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport.’’

Imagine that! Chinese Olympians cheating? Can't be! No way!! Can't wait to see what happens with the swimming inquiry.
After hearing about it, I caught 2 minuted of the feed on-line. It was disgusting to see since it was so blatant. What an odd juxtipostion for the culture of 3 Asian countries who usually drive themselves very had. Glad they got tossed! Although it begs the question as to why this is even an Olympic event.
I don't understand. The objective of the athletes is to win the olympics. If that means strategically losing a match I don't see how they can be blamed for that. The people who should be disqualified are the organizers who designed the competition round robin that would encourage this kind of gaming.
From business to academics to sports...you can't spell cheating without the first two letters in China...coincidence? As anyone who's done business there, worked with adults or taught students from China, NO. The apparachiks have it so good they force others to cheat to survive, so everyone does. Nobody familiar with China will honestly tell you otherwise.
