Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will play in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Saints.

That was a little bit in question considering Brady did not play in last year’s exhibition opener against the Jaguars. But that was after the lockout and the Patriots weren’t really settled, especially along the offensive line.

Brady played 17 snaps -- two series -- against the Saints in the 2010 opener.
