Red Sox worried about leaks

BALTIMORE — In the aftermath of this week’s Yahoo! Sports story of a reported mutiny by Red Sox players against manager Bobby Valentine, there were strong denials from players and owner John Henry Wednesday, and emerging as a major issue for upper Sox management is concern over the sources cited in the story and their motivation.

“We are very concerned about a breach of confidence in this matter because in the 10 years we’ve held these meetings, we’ve never had information leak like this,” said Larry Lucchino, the team’s president and CEO.

Yahoo sports Jeff Passan worked out of kansas City. Mike Aviles and pitching coach Bob McClure have past KC roots. Go with McClure as the rat.

Money says Bobby V himself was the rat...

Front office leaks? Locker room leaks? Who cares. This is what's preoccupying the Sox? How about winning. I'm not hearing or reading a lot about concern for that. The fall that this team is experiencing since last September is just distressing, disturbing and candidly speaking, wretched.

Dan Duquette has been spotted in Baltimore laughing histerically.

Is there really a Nick Carfardo or is it just Charles Steinberg submitting columns under an assumed name. By the way, The Globe running a top of the sports page story in agate type as large as the Hancock Tower in a fruitless effort to keep the team relevant would be comincal in nature were it not so pathetic. And did anyone actually beleive the management friendly patios exchanged between Larry and the cheerleaders at D & C. How about someone actually pressing him on why he was silent as Fenway Park in the ninth inning in failing to back Valentine when Dusty (my favorite till now) Pedroia was grossly insubordinate on the Youkilis criticism. Had Larry done that, he would have sent the necessary and long overdue message to the players. You play. We manage. It works pretty well for the (we don't abuse our rehab time) Patriots, Eh, boys and girls?

Don't exaggerate. Dan was laughing mockingly, continuously, contemptuously, wildly and dispationately.

How 'bout worrying about something more important--like winning a game?
