Donte’ Stallworth a changed man after fateful turn in 2009

FOXBOROUGH — The son understands that it will follow him forever; the mother wishes others could forgive him, as God and the Reyes family have.

The son has learned to tune out the ignorance, which still comes at him, in the form of anonymous tweets or shouts from the stands; that truly nothing good happens after 1 o’clock in the morning, that one decision can affect the lives of many.

It is troubling to be witness to all the negative stories surrounding professional ahtletes, today, who seem to play on and off the field with no conscience or sense of responsibility whatsoever. Sheila's account regarding Donte Stallworth seems to be an example of someone who made a grevious mistake, acknowledged it, recognized the fact that he needded to atone for it and has done the very best he can to be square with the victim's family and himself. God bless and comfort them both. On another note, a report surfaced that the lawless Patriots subjected an innocent rookie to another serious episode of hazing by making him catch a punt in order to eliminate sprints from practice for the entire team. I know Joe Sullivan has a crack team of investigative reporters on the case and, I'm convinved an announcement from the very steps of the nearest State Police barracks is imminent. Stay tuned.

What a terrific piece! As they say don't judge a book by its cover. That type of accident could have happenned to any of us and was truly a man for stepping up and facing responsibility. I'll be rooting for him this season. He's been through a lot and deserves some good luck!

good work, shalize
