The Red Sox and Dodgers are involved in trade discussions that could result in Boston moving some of its most notable -- and expensive -- players to Los Angeles. The Dodgers are interested in Adrian Gonzalez and Josh Beckett, both of whom they claimed on waivers earlier today, according to a major league source. There have been discussions regarding an expanded deal with both players. The Dodgers have a need for a left-handed, power-hitting first baseman and to improve their starting pitching. It appears the new owners of the Dodgers, who spent $2 billion on the franchise, are going all out to win the National League West and to compete for a championship.
