1B James Loney

Age: 28; Bats: L; Throws: L

Batting a career-low .254 this season, though he’s at .275 since the All-Star break . . . In previous four seasons, averaged 159 games, 12 homers, and 83 RBIs . . . Career .994 fielding percentage at first base . . . According to fangraphs.com, entered Saturday with the third-highest UZR among first basemen at 4.9, behind Adrian Gonzalez (14.0) and Mark Teixeira (9.3) . . . Career .349 hitter in the postseason (22 of 63) . . . First-round pick of the Dodgers in 2002 (19th overall).

INF Ivan De Jesus Jr.

Son of the former major leaguer . . . A .231 hitter in parts of two major league seasons, with just three extra-base hits (all doubles) in 65 at-bats . . . Spent most of last season with Triple A Albuquerque, hitting .310. In 60 games this year with the Isotopes was at a .295 clip . . . Saw time at second base, third base, shortstop, and both corner outfield spots in the minors . . . A second-round draft pick by the Dodgers in 2005 out of Puerto Rico.

SP Allen Webster

Has appeared in 27 games at Double A Chattanooga this season, going 6-8 with a 3.55 ERA . . . Must reduce walks (4.2 per nine innings in 2012), but has put up solid strikeout totals in the minors (456 K’s in 485 innings) . . . Ground-ball pitcher who features a good sinker and curveball. Has allowed only one homer in 121 innings this year . . . Entered the season ranked the 95th overall prospect by Baseball America.

OF-1B Jerry Sands

Has appeared in just nine major league games this year after playing in 61 as a rookie in 2011 (.253 average, 4 homers, 26 RBIs) . . . A career .290 hitter (.565 slugging) in the Dodgers minor league system, spending most of the last two years with Triple A Albuquerque. This season, he’s batting .303 with 24 homers and 101 RBIs . . . Has a high strikeout rate in the minors (once every 4.2 at-bats) . . . At 6 feet 4 inches, 225 pounds, has similar build to Ryan Lavarnway.

SP Rubby De La Rosa

Age: 23; Bats: R; Throws: R

Recently activated off the 60-day disabled list after having Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery Aug. 9, 2011 . . . Made his first Dodgers appearance of 2012 on Aug. 22, allowing two runs in two-thirds of an inning of relief. Made 10 starts and 13 appearances with the Dodgers in 2011 (4-5, 3.71 ERA) . . . Before his surgery, the Dominican native was throwing his fastball in the mid-90s as a starter and up to 100 miles per hour out of the bullpen.
