How the 2012 Red Sox unraveled

Last season, the colossal Red Sox collapse came in September. This season it’s been a long series of frustrations, bad news, bizarre happenings, and off-the-field incidents for the Red Sox right from spring training. We take a look back at some of the biggest issues that have derailed Boston in 2012:

Jan. 17: Wrist surgery for Carl Crawford

This team came to spring training with a bad vibe and a goal to undermine Bobby Valentine. The idiot by the name of Curt Schilling added gasoline to the flames and really ignited the whole thing. It seems to me that the injuries were not the fault of Bobby, nor was the fact that big league players today are so sensitve that they can't have their feelings hurt. He tried to be a leader and not their friend and also applied some tough love. I for one would like to see him back in 2013 with a fresh team, a fresh start and a new set of guidelines in place to see how well the red sox perform.

Oh great, blame Schilling. Now let me get this straight - Schilling helps big time and gets Beantown a championship. Bobby V did what exactly except keep running his mouth and digging a deeper hole for himself. Who is rhs777 exactly? I think it's Bobby V.

Yes! Yes! Bring him back. Pleeassssse!

What a mess! No one to blame but the owners, who didn't realize the extent of the chaos from last September.

This is the bestest, most funnest Red Sox season EVER! It beats last year by a mile. It is the Red Sox season that keeps giving and giving - to us Yankees fans. Hey, how'd that 100 year celebration go? Hey, how'd that 9 run lead go? and that was only the beginning. Please, please, please bring Bobby V back. Please!

If Francona had put an end to the beer drinking and chicken munching in the clubhouse during the game last year, none of these problems would have emerged. But not Terry, "Buddy Buddy" Francona.

If the players had been profession . . . oh, wait, they are "rpofessionals."

Not Francona's fault. Their fault.

He only guided your stinking team to 2 World Championships. Typical Red Sox Fan. You folks also mocked Damon and recently you went after Schilling. You folks are putrid.

Just a bad luck year. Although, AGon never seemed completely comfortable. Crawford was an excellent player before he got to Boston, but injuries did hamper him.

That was an excellent summary.

Thank you.
