Red Sox for sale? It’s doubtful

Don Draper sat in John Henry’s seat next to the Red Sox dugout for the Yankee finale Thursday night.

Perfect. “Mad Men” comes to Fenway Park for the final days of the train-wreck season of 2012.

DS: "100-year-old crown jewel."...yeah, Fenway's a real museum piece....but not much fun to get to or sit in.

Fenway has some of the best access points in MLB..costs $2 to get there via the T, add a few more dollars if you park at say, Quincy Adams..

OK, some of the sitelines could be better..but the thing was built in the second decade of the 20th century..the footprint was the footprint..

You're in a ballpark that Ruth, Cobb, Williams, DiMaggio, Berra, and on and on..actually played in..the scoreboards are state of the art..food's not bad..they do soda refills in the commerative cups..not a bad deal..

Lighten up..

Dan, usually you're suck a piss-ant.  This was a good article and I'm really glad you wrote it.  These owners are the best we've had in years (decades?)  They were a big part of why we've had 2 world championships after an 86 year drought.  What's mind boggling to me is, all season people were yelling we have to get Becket, Crawford, and Lackey out.  We got 2 out of the 3 out.  And now people are saying they did this to sell the team?  GIve me a break!  They did it because it was the right and smart thing to do!!!!

"Maybe Henry is Montgomery Burns". Maybe? He's a dead ringer for him!

"Jacko Henry" - I have been chuckling all morning with Dan's non de plume for John.

I think they are men in their 60s and even in bad times like this, this is nothing more fun than owning Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox....Bingo!

Two words that should scare the hell out of 21st Century Red Sox fans: Tom Yawkey.

Time for a major overhaul and change from the top down. This now clueless group has got to exit. The sooner, the better. Only then can we have realistic hope that the next owner can and will turn the franchise around. Since winning it all in 2007, it's been a steady and precipitous decline. The owners are ultimately responsible and accountable, which they refuse to acknowledge, which is no surprise for an organization that ducks accountability with every breath and dollar it inhales.

Dan, if you think Lucchino never tells the truth (this is what you've written) they why do you keep asking for interviews and emailing him??  If you don't believe what he says then why do you want to speak with him??

Btw thanks for publicly ackowledging what I've been saying for months - you've burned your 20 yr old bridge to Lucchino. Highly doubtful you'll ever be able to repair it.
