Wayne Krivsky, a special assistant with the Twins, is too modest. He should scream from the highest mountain that he was the man who engineered the Wily Mo Pena-for-Bronson Arroyo heist with the Red Sox when he was general manager of the Reds.
Since that deal, Arroyo has been one of the most unusual, and perhaps one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball.

Nick, Bobby V will not be fired because of this teams play this year. Nobody including ownership blames Bobby V for this team, this season. No, Bobby Valentine will be fired because of his inabliity to keep his rather large mouth closed. Valentine sealed his Red Sox fate with his "worst roster...ever" comment from a couple of days ago. The great irony is that Bobby V could have survived the injuries and the horrific record. Let the record show that it was Bobby Valentine's mouth, i.e. lack of professionalism that cost him is job. And should! Valentine could have saved himself but sadly he just couldn't help himself....had to always run that yap. Bobby Valentine's Red Sox obituary will read: Died of self inflicted wounds
Agreed in all respects. I check the Globe sports every day on line and have yet to see any reponse from management on this. I thought he should have been fired on the spot. How can any of the news guys work for him? Ciriaco, for all he has done for us this year, must wonder what kind of man would treat your skills and energy so disrespectfuly? I think players play for their teammates, and as such, valentine may have motivated them to win to spite of this arrogant short round.
Keep flying the no. 26, Nick. It's such a disgrace that they haven't retired Boggs' number and given the recognition deserved of one of history's most skilled hitters. It almost seems like a personal vendetta.
Spot on on the wealth of knowledge in reserve Here. I would hope it couldn't be a money thing - could it?
Nick what about bringing back jack billingham?

Could Bobby Valentine return next season? If you believe John Henry, Tom Werner, and Larry Lucchino, the answer is yes. They have said this season is not Valentine’s fault. Would they go against what they’re saying publicly? That wouldn’t look good. ********************************************* Oh, rubbish. Like no team has ever fired a manager at the end of the year after supporting him publicly (which is only what they should do) during it.
