Junior Danny Guadagnoli threw a pair of TD passes in the first six minutes of the second half, then paired with sophomore Jeff Hill on a 70-yard strike with 51 seconds left to give Bentley (3-0, 2-0 NE-10) a 21-14 win over Assumption (1-2, 1-1) on Friday night in Worcester.
Guadagnoli finished 22 of 28 for a career-high 344 yards, including 260 in the second half, and now has eight TD passes on the season. Hill’s game-winner was his eighth catch of the night, for 146 yards, and his ninth career TD reception, all of which have been for 33 yards or more.
Stonehill 35, Saint Anselm 20 — Mickey Miela intercepted two passes inside the 5, and Jermetrius Troy (33 carries, 150 yards, 1 TD) and Justin Willis (19 carries, 92 yards, 1 TD) combined for 242 rushing yards, leading the Skyhawks (2-1, 2-0 NE-10) past the Hawks (0-3, 0-2) in Manchester, N.H.
Mass. Maritime 41, Nichols 13 — Junior Mike Stanton completed 13 of 17 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 26 yards and two scores as the Buccaneers (1-1) beat the Bison (0-3) in Dudley.
Washington St. 35, UNLV 27 — Connor Halliday, starting in place of the injured Jeff Tuel, threw four first-half TD passes to help the Huskies (2-1) beat the Rebels (0-3) in Las Vegas.
