This is study in not saying what you are trying to say, in public. Either say it, or stay away from it all together.
Is Josh McDaniels the Patriots Valentine?
Against the elite defenses in the NFL Josh McDaniels is out of his league, just ask Spagnuolo...
Well-stated point of view. The trick plays aren't working well and result in big losses. At least there were fewer of them this week.
clear thinking, well and succinctly stated. Perhaps because in the last two games I had been thinking the same thing. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Even in, especially in, football it's really possible to be far too clever and tricky for your own good.
Though McDaniels has NOT done a good job in 3 games, the loss last night was mainly due to NO PASS RUSH. I am NOT an Arrinton, Moore, Chung, or McCourty fan but given 6,7,8 seconds, most QB's would eat up any defense
Just another outstanding article from Bedard. It's a shame there aren't more reporters like him. A good critique. On another note, watching this game made me feel like deja-vu to another season. Where the Pats seemed to get outside their offense, couldn't put away opponents, relied too much on the pass at the game end (their incompletions stopped the clock 2 or 3 times before the 2 minute warning), couldn't stop the opposition's final drive, and lost games they usually win (including uncharactristingly poor clock management). I'm too lazy to do the research. Did anybody else have the same feeling?
Where was Stephen Ridley last night? And what about Gronk? A pretty awful offensive game and strategy, even with the 30 points. The defense? Much worse. Penalties? Both sides were pretty even. Don't just balme the bad play calling by the temp refs.
Greg you nailed it. I felt just like you for the past 2 weeks.Mc Daniels does not have to put his fingerprints on this offense! Just let these players play!
