Not buying it, Bob. Perhaps you feel sport is superior entertainment because we can feel elation with victory and anguish with defeat. But it is still "just entertainment". Is it really serving a higher purpose like Justice? A truly painful stretch. Hopefully, completely tongue-in-cheek or a maudlin tribute to what has paid the bills all these years.

112358 is right. Pats are not Springsteen, but then again carrots are not broccoli. The former are entertainment however different, the latter are vegetables however different. Bob, I'm a fan of yours but this one's a stretch. You buy a ticket, take a seat and observe/particpate as allowed be it Pats or Sox, Sringsteen or BSO but each event is different every time. Some follks like boxing, some a string quartet; some carrots, fewer broccoli. It's all entertainment, it's all vegetables, you "pick" (a.i.w.)what you prefer, bu8t it is still entertainment or vegetables.
A possible exception to a people's overwhelming reaction to a movie was how "Jaws" kept millions from swimming in the ocean one summer and I'm guessing that "Deliverance" kept quite a few from camping in Georgia's remote wilderness.
Your covering up, for WELL OVER 20 Years,in my opinion, for Hrry Sinden and Jeremy Jacobs while thousands of us paid good money and held out hope that the Bruins were actually fully committed to a Stanley Cup was NOT FUN and CERTAINLY NOT ENTERTAINMENT.
