Red Sox are making it easy for Yankees

NEW YORK — Yankees general manager Brian Cashman might not have to worry about his team being a wild-card entry. After a 10-2 win over Boston Monday night coupled with Tampa Bay’s win over Baltimore, the Yankees were back alone in first place in the American League East with two games to play.

The game at Yankee Stadium went according to script — the Yankees bombarded Clay Buchholz for eight runs in 1 innings, and CC Sabathia easily handled Boston’s horrible lineup.

The Red Sox , like the Democrats, take the season ticket holders, like the taxpayers, for granted around here. High prices and high taxes as the value plummets.

What we need Nick is Omar Manaya. He did such a great job with the Mets. Just like Bobby V.

Thank God there are only two games left.

Compare the Yankees late season slump to last year's Red Sox collapse. The Yankees sucked it up and played like winners, not like whiners. Sox management should insist on the strongest lineup playing. Baltimore has a right to be livid over last night's lack of competition...................I wonder what would be different if this series were being played in Fenway in front of fans whose only solace for this season would have been keeping the Yankees out of first place, or even possibly a wildcard. Won't happen now.
