NEW YORK — An otherwise standard radio interview took a sharp turn on Wednesday when Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine was asked whether his assistant coaches have been loyal during his turbulent season.
“No,” he told WEEI. “You asked me what I feel; that’s how I feel.”

I've seen it written that Valentine used to stay holed up in his office. If true, doesn't that explain, to a large extent, why communication was poor between him and his players and coaches? For a guy who outwardly appeared to be an extrovert he had a strange way of dealing with people. The only guy I'd rather work for less than Bobby V would be Larry Lucchino!
