Red Sox say they want David Ortiz back

NEW YORK — General manager Ben Cherington said Wednesday that retaining David Ortiz is “a priority” as the Red Sox enter what is sure to be a busy offseason.

Ortiz will become a free agent after the World Series if the Sox are unable to reach agreement on a new contract with their longtime DH.

Love David ... thanks for the memories but time to move on.

No matter what you give him , it will not be enough and by mid May the offical "I am underpaid and unappreciated" tour will come to town full swing.

The players on this team have been about , "me , my and mine" for so long now -  I really think that David should be no exception , we do not need this rebuilding to be hampered with players .. any players .. griping about their contracts ... and if past history has told us anything about Ortiz .. he WILL start griping .

I love David as a player ... but have grown real tired of his act.
