Jon Meterparel, who has handled the “Sports Flash’’ updates on WEEI’s “Dennis and Callahan’’ morning show since 2000, made his departure from the station official on Friday morning.
The Globe reported that his departure was expected earlier on Friday, and he announced it during the morning show. Friday marked his final appearance.

The struggle to listen to D&C was eased by the whitty, knowledgeable, even handed comments of Jon Meterparel. When D and/or C took time off, any replacement was better. First they break up Dale and Holley, now no more Meter. I hold no hope that the station can find a miraculous pick for Meter's replacment to make the show palatable. Good luck Meter; I look forward to bigger things from you that allow your entertaining qualities to come shining thru!
