Tom Brady’s mistakes caught up to Patriots

Two INTs, grounding calls offset QB’s big passing day

SEATTLE — As dangerous and prolific as the Patriots’ passing attack can be with Tom Brady at the controls, the franchise quarterback has gone on record saying he doesn’t want to be throwing it 60 times a game, because it probably spells trouble.

Sunday can serve as a prime example. Brady threw 58 passes — the most he’s ever attempted in an NFL game — for a season-high 395 yards. But it came in a 24-23 loss to the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, a game that featured squandered offensive chances and multiple mistakes by Brady at inopportune moments that came back to haunt the Patriots.

The offense just can not close out games. We all know the secondary is not good, but when the defense makes stops and/or get turnovers, the offense must do it's part. This team don't seem to have the killer instinct to put teams away when it has it's chances. There were many yesterday and the offense let too many potential points slip away.

Next time, don't leave the running game at home!

Tom Grady does not have the authority of calling all the plays. Besides, we see many QBs throw the ball 'away' & THEY never get penalties . . . so, why the crackdown on the Patriot's QB?

I agree with "doonkue"....the secondary is not very good. Which we knew right from the start of the season. But what has been a surprise is that our offense cannot seem to close out games. Brady made some bad throws and definitely a bad play with the intentional grounding call. That was just plain dumb. But, what about the running game? The running game had been a pleasant surprise, until  yesterday. Why didn't coach "hoodie" go to the running game more often? They can't really expect Brady to throw that many passes a game?!? I don't if it is because of McDaniels but something needs to change or this season is going to be a big dissapointment for Pats fans.

Why didn't Brady call a timeout with 31 seconds left in the first half?  It made no sense.  He walked up to the line, burning 17 seconds on first down!  No sense.  Belichick was beside himself, running down the sidelines to get the ref's attention and stop the clock.  Had Brady called the timeout, the intentional grounding would've left a few seconds on the clock for a field goal.  The Pats would have been up three scores and the Seahawk's last drive would have been meaningless.

Have the Patriots turned into the Chargers?!!!!   All the talent in the world with no results?  With the only problem in their heads?!!  Tell me it isn't so.
