John Farrell, right, took the reins as the new Red Sox manager on Tuesday when he was introduced by GM Ben Cherington.
"This is an incredible privilege to be standing here today," Farrell said after becoming the Red Sox's 46th manager.
Farrell said he wasn't daunted by the scrutiny on Red Sox managers. "I think that's one of the drawing cards to this position," he said.
