Ivy League roundup: Cornell’s win creates jam at top

A week after shocking Harvard with a furious fourth-quarter rally, Princeton couldn’t hold on late against host Cornell, losing, 37-35, to fall into a tie for first place in the Ivy League with Harvard and Penn.

Jeff Mathews threw for 525 yards and four touchdowns for the Big Red on Saturday, and John Wells kicked a 23-yard field goal with 50 seconds left to win it.
