Patriots take a chance on Aqib Talib

FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots made a bold move to shore up their leaky secondary Thursday, trading for Tampa Bay cornerback Aqib Talib, a player widely regarded as talented but who also has a history of volatility.

The Buccaneers announced that they sent Talib and a 2013 seventh-round pick to New England in exchange for a 2013 fourth-round pick.

Just a thug.

Imagine, a thug playing football!! Can BB and Co. harness this thug's energy and channel it into something positive so when Aquib enters society after his football days he and we can be spared his sociopathic ways? Interesting to read his response to his most recent suspension, it may demonstrate an understanding and appreciation for the need to abide by some societal rules. He may be just a thug, but that doesn't mean he has to remain a thug.

A history of volatility. That would be an understatement, if not a complete whitewash, of this guy's history. What word would you have used if he had been signed by the Raiders? Or the Jets?
