The Masconomet boys’ soccer team stepped up its game Tuesday afternoon, blanking East Boston, 3-0, in an MIAA North Division 1 quarterfinal matchup in Topsfield.

The Chieftains (17-0-2) were coming off a challenging 1-0 win over Chelmsford, in which they lost star senior back Demetri DeCoulos to an injury.
