LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers fired coach Mike Brown on Friday after a 1-4 start to his second season in charge.
General manager Mitch Kupchak announced that assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff would coach the Lakers against the Warriors Friday night while the club’s top brass searches for Brown’s replacement after just 18 months in charge.

"Failure is not fatal, but failure to change may be!" John Wooden
Mike Brown may have kept his job had he read this. Let's face it, the "Princeton Offense" was NEVER, EVER gonna work in the pro game, especially when your team (Lakers) has so many high-profile, highly paid atheletes. However, Brown must (even though Brown claims the contrary) feel like he was thrown under the bus by Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss. Didn't they have to sign-off on his instituting the "Princeton Offense"? I would have thought that the front office would have been fully appraised of Brown's intentions, both offensively and defensively. However, the Laker brass has been backstroking as fast as it can away from any form of culpability! And, now it seems they are falling all over themselves to pray at the alter of Phil Jackson like so many repenitent children!
There is no honor among thieves, used car slesmen and professional team executives! I guess the Lakers did learn one thing from Al Davis' time in L.A. - "Just win, baby, win!" It's really sleazy! I think I need a shower!
