I received two e-mails this week from Ken Fuchs, the head of Yahoo! Sports. Fuchs sent apologies to anyone involved with a Yahoo! fantasy football league because of what he described as a “Yahoo! Sports Fantasy outage.”

In other words, Yahoo’s fantasy server crashed one hour before kickoff last Sunday, rendering its mobile apps almost useless and creating all kinds of slow service. The interruption was a major inconvenience, but the website’s functionality did improve over the course of the day.
